Born in 1972 in Altamahaw Ossipee, N.C., to a musical family, Walker began learning to play the cello at three years old. As a teenager, he developed an interest in the blues through the work of artists like Ray Charles and B.B. King. He studied art at East Carolina University before giving his first public performances in Greenville.
Walker moved to Austin, Texas as a young man, releasing his debut album When It Pours It Rains in 1998. He gained his first serious attention, however, through the release of his eponymous album in 2006, which earned rave reviews from publications such as Maverick UK, No Depression and Blues Revue. Shortly afterward, Walker established a songwriting partnership with Grammy Award-winning artist Gary Nicholson.
With Nicholson’s help, Walker released Leap of Faith in 2009, which reached the top of the Billboard Top Blues Albums chart. It was an accomplishment he would repeat in 2016 with Gotta Get Back. Seth Walker tickets put you right where the action is to see this gifted blues singer in concert.
