Lost Friends, Middle Kids' full-length debut, followed in 2018, released at home by Universal Music Australia and abroad courtesy of Domino. A Top 10 record in the band's native Australia, Lost Friends was named the Australian Album of the Year at the 2018 J Awards. Middle Kids supported Lost Friends' release with a flurry of tour dates alongside Bloc Party, Ryan Adams, Cold War Kids, and The War On Drugs. Following the 2019 release of the trio's second EP, New Songs For Old Problems, Middle Kids began working with Cold War Kids' longtime producer, Las Stalfors, on new material.
