Three musicians came together in 1969 to form the band ZZ Top in Houston, Texas. Dusty Hill, the third original member, remained with ZZ Top as a singer and bass guitarist until his death in 2021. Blending a variety of musical styles, ZZ Top signed with London Records in 1971. Their first album, ZZ Top’s First Album was released that same year. Between 1972 and 2012, the band released 14 additional albums and began touring the globe for crowds of thousands. Throughout the band’s successful career, ZZ Top received Video Music Awards for Best Group Video and Best Art Direction, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
