Colin Blunstone is a guitarist and singer-songwriter from England known primarily for his work as the lead singer of the star rock group The Zombies. Blunstone was born in 1945 in Hatfield and showed an interest in music as a boy. After meeting Hugh Grundy, Paul Atkinson and Rod Argent at an Easter celebration, Blunstone formed The Zombies with the trio. The Zombies’ demo got them signed to Decca Records in 1962.
Through the rest of the 60s The Zombies produced a slew of charting hits including “Time of the Season,” “Tell Her No” and “She’s Not There,” all of which reached the top 75 in the US. In the 70s Blunstone pursued a solo career, attracting attention with his songs “I Don’t Believe in Miracles” and “Say You Don’t Mind,” the latter of which was a top twenty hit in the UK.
Blunstone has also collaborated heavily with the Alan Parsons Project and has appeared on film and television on the likes of The Savages, Pop Quiz and Bunny Lake is Missing.
