With a lineup that consists of Patrick Gillen (vocals, bass), Charles Minehart (guitar, vocals), Collin O’Donnell (lead guitar) and John Anderson Dry Reef first started producing music together in high school. Over time they developed a friendship and a fresh reggae-rock style as their jam sessions developed into practice for their first shows.
The group’s high school years hardly count however as the band temporarily separated to pursue college. When they reunited with broadened musical horizons Dry Reef ticket quickly started to rise in popularity. As they mixed in influences like Talking Heads and Vampire Weekend with their old mainstays like Sublime and Bob Marley a new Dry Reef sound was formed. In 2018 the group debuted their new sound with the release of their first full-length album entitled Daychange. With multiple memorable songs like “The Wash”, “Start It Up” and “Come Away” the album’s infectious energy helped it catch on with critics and fans. As a group known for bringing a positive vibe to every stage Dry Reef shows are on a different level.
