Eurydice Opera Tickets

Attend a modern opera with Eurydice tickets. The opera Eurydice, which tells the story of Orpheus from the vantage point of his wife, was adapted by Sarah Ruhl in 2020 from her 2003 play with the same name. The music for the opera was composed by Matthew Aucoin and the director for the first performance was Mary Zimmerman.

The plot of the story begins with the young lovers Orpheus and Eurydice about to get married. Eurydice meets a man who says he has a letter from her father for her as she goes outside to get a drink of water. She follows him to his apartment but when she tries to resist his advances she trips and falls down the stairs to her death.

Listen to the story of a Greek myth retold in song with Eurydice tickets. The second act of the story involves Eurydice, who is now in the land of the dead. She also has been dipped in the Lethe, the river of forgetfulness so she remembers nothing of her life. Her father patiently teaches her again how to speak and remember her life while the lord of the underworld wants to seduce her. And then Orpheus comes down to lead her back to the world of the living. The opera premiered at the Los Angeles Opera in Los Angeles on February 1, 2020.

How much are Eurydice tickets?
