Home games are played at Tudor Fieldhouse, which is a multipurpose facility built in 1950 and can hold 5,208, as of the renovations done in 2014. The arena is also home ot the volleyball and women’s basketball teams.  Before renovations were done for the 2008 season, it was known as Rice Gymnasium.

Men’s basketball has been played at Rice since 1914 when Rice was part of the Southwest Conference with head coach Robert Cummings. Other notable coaches include Buster Brannon, who coached the Owls to their first NCAA appearance in 1940.

Rice Owls Basketball Schedule

From the season-opening Champions Classic to March Madness, the college basketball season is always full of exciting games. Teams open their seasons in November with non-conference contests and tournaments. The Maui Invitational and Gulf Coast Showcase are two of the top early-season tournaments. The season moves into conference play in December and January before conference tournaments take place in early March. The WNIT, NIT and NCAA Tournaments will take place in March and April.
