Enjoy great Irish music with The Mighty Ploughboys tickets. The five-member Irish rock band The Mighty Ploughboys creates a fusion of rock and roll with elements of traditional Irish music. The band was formed by lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and frontman Pat Hearty in 2001.
Hearty grew up in New Fairfield, Conn., but spent many summers in Northern Ireland, where he was exposed to Irish music in County Amagh. From the late 1980s to the early 1990s, Hearty was the frontman and lead singer of the rock band Firehouse Red. He then formed the band Trooper Thorne, again performing lead vocals. In the late 1990s, he moved to Boston and performed as a solo act. In 2001, Hearty relocated back to Connecticut and formed The Mighty Ploughboys.

He previously performed with such bands as Furthumore, Stigian and Draught. The lead guitar is played by John Rich. Rich, originally from New York, moved with his family to Connecticut when he was 11. Other members of the band include guitarist and mandolin player Renato Ghio and drummer Marcello Muraca.
