WWE Wrestling Tickets
World Wrestling Entertainment, or simply WWE, is a global multimedia company that specializes in promoting professional wrestling events all across the United States and throughout the world. The company began as the Capitol Wrestling Corporation in the early 1950s. WWE tickets are very popular amongst live entertainment fans. The organization started out as a pro wrestling and boxing promotion in the northeastern United States. It eventually formed the World Wide Wrestling Federation in the early 1960s to host wrestling cards. By the late 70s, the company was renamed the World Wrestling Federation, or WWF. Vince McMahon purchased the company from his father in the early 1980s. During the 1980s, the WWF became the first wrestling promotion to go national by using cable television and employing the most charismatic wrestlers throughout the nation such as Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage and Andre The Giant. WWE tickets sold out quickly for events featuring these wrestlers.
The company went global in the late 1990s during a wrestling boom period led by superstars such as The Rock and Steve Austin. The company eventually was renamed to World Wrestling Entertainment in 2002. Today, tickets are available for live events featuring the Raw, Smackdown and NXT brands. They each feature their own unique roster of wrestlers like Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles. Major Pay-Per-View events are held monthly or bi-monthly. They feature a culmination of feuds between the wrestlers on each show.
WWE Event Information
WWE hosts family-friendly events that tour across major arenas in the United States. They feature death-defying stunts and larger-than-life personalities with a pro-wrestling style that is dubbed sports entertainment by the company. WWE features three live televised events that happen in front of live crowds each week. WWE Raw has toured the United States since 1993, and is the longest running weekly-television program in history. WWE NXT takes place on Wednesday nights live from Full Sail University. It features young, up-and-coming stars with hard-hitting and technical matches. WWE SmackDown began in 1999 and also tours to a new destination every week to perform live on television in front of thousands of fans in attendance.
Major Pay-Per-View events take place each month to progress the storylines of the television shows. These events sell out often. Events like WrestleMania and Royal Rumble typically take place in NFL or MLB stadiums to hold additional fans. Non-televised events featuring the Raw, NXT and SmackDown rosters take place in smaller arenas. This allows fans near smaller arenas and markets to see their favorite stars live.
WWE Tickets & Seating Chart
WWE events typically take place in major arenas with floor seating. Lower bowl and upper bowl tickets are available. Certain areas of the lower bowl may be off limits to make room for the wrestler’s entryways and television cameras. Live events typically feature seven sections of reserved seating. There are two near the entrance ramp, while the other five surround the ring. Front row ringside tickets are often available, but sell for a premium price. All WWE events feature a big screen that will show highlights of the action and backstage segments throughout the show.
TicketSmarter’s interactive seating map will help you navigate all available seating options. You can sort through the various tickets by price, section and row without having to make a special visit to the ticket office. Every WWE show features unique storylines, top television production and in-ring action that you can see from any seat in the house.
WWE Schedule
The WWE event schedule is arduous. Superstars go from town to town to perform in front of thousands of fans multiple times a week with no off season. The highlights of the WWE schedule are four big events. They are the Royal Rumble in January, WrestleMania in late March or early April, SummerSlam in August and Survivor Series in November. Each of these events have been held annually for over 30 years and have become their own multi-day, multi-show spectacles that take place in one city. You never know what will happen in WWE. Special guest appearances and major title changes are common throughout the year.
