After Ken Young bought a majority of the Double-A team the Huntsville Stars, the Stars moved to Biloxi following the 2014 season. The team was renamed after the city’s oyster industry and legacy as a hub for seafood. MGM Resorts International licensed the naming rights for the stadium in 2014. The team had to play the first 54 games of 2015 on the road as construction was completed.

The park was the site of the Southern League on June 18, 2019. The stadium also hosted the Conference USA Baseball Tournament from 2017 to 2019.
