Marshall initially struggled at getting a band together and ended up having to write songs for their debut EP, The Space Between (2011), in his home studio.

After a rocky start, the band released their debut EP to critical acclaim, and it was rated “Excellent” by Sputnik Music. Shortly thereafter, Intervals released their first studio album, A Voice Within, in 2014. The debut full-length album proved to be a sensation and was rated a 4 out of 5 stars by Heavy Blog is Heavy. Since 2020, the band has released over four studio albums, EPs, singles, and a handful of music videos.
