JD McPherson is an American rock & roll singer-songwriter and guitarist. Raised in rural Oklahoma, he played guitar as a teenager, played in local bands and began to write songs. He obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Tulsa but decided to go into the entertainment business inspired by his love of 1950s rock & rollers such as Buddy Holly and Little Richard. His debut album, 'Signs & Signifiers' (2012), topped Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart but peaked at number 47 on the Top Rock Albums Chart.
'Let the Good Times Roll' (2015) went to number one on Heatseekers and reached number 17 on the Rock Chart. That year he played on the Glastonbury Festival's acoustic stage and appeared in the 'The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show' on Netflix. 'Undivided Heart & Soul' (2017) was also a Heatseekers number one and went to number three on the Americana/Folk Albums Chart, number four on the Independent Albums Chart and number 19 on the Rock Chart.
