Matthew Brue formed MISSIO in Texas in the year 2015, and soon after asked David Butler to join him as songwriter and producer. The name of the band comes from the Latin word for “mission.” This word inspired Brue during some of the most challenging moments in his life, and ultimately helped him overcome his fight against addiction. Since then, MISSIO has produced the 2017 album Loner, and the 2019 album The Darker the Weather // The Better the Man. Across these albums, they’ve come out with a number of popular songs, including “Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea,” “Everybody Gets High” and “I See You.” They also created the original motion picture soundtrack, Love Me Whole.
