Molchat Doma has sometimes been connected with "doomer music", which is cold and gloomy with sad lyrics focused on loneliness.

Molchat Doma consists of Egor Shkutko on vocals singing in his deep strong voice, Roman Komogortsev on guitar, synth and drum machine and Pavel Kozlov on bass guitar and synth. The band’s debut album, From the Roofs of Our Houses, released in 2017, has been described as bringing forward a bold new voice in underground music. Their second studio LP, Etazhi, saw its release in 2018. In early 2020 a single from Etazhi, called “Sudno”, began to gain popularity which resulted in it reaching #2 on the Spotify worldwide Viral 50 chart. Monument, the band’s third album came out in September 2020.
