Nashville Symphony Concert Tickets

Nashville Symphony tickets have been a Music City staple since 1945. Since then, the symphony has both stayed true to the rich and storied history of classical music, as well as kept up with pop culture through a wide variety of performances. One night the Nashville Symphony may perform Mozart’s “Gran Partita,” and the next, perform a John Williams film opus in conjunction with a screening of the actual film. The symphony also commonly backs up touring artists. Judy Collins, Bernadette Peters, Nas, and Weird Al Yankovic have all included the Nashville Symphony on their touring schedule.

The majority of Nashville Symphony concert dates take place inside Schermerhorn Symphony Center in downtown Nashville. The center is named after Kenneth Schermerhorn, who conducted the symphony from 1983 until his death in 2005. The Schermerhorn Symphony Center opened in September of 2006 and has housed the Nashville Symphony ever since. Nashville Symphony tickets were in high demand at the first performance at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The evening was conducted by Leonard Slatkin and included musical works by Shostakovich, Barber and Mahler in addition to a world premiere Triple Concerto by legendary banjo player Bela Fleck, Indian composer and table virtuoso Zakir Hussain and bassist and composer Edgar Meyer.

The Nashville Symphony has been by Nashville residents and tourists alike ever since World War II veteran Walter Sharp convinced Nashville community leaders to help found the musical outfit in 1945. Nearly 80 years and seven conductors later, the Nashville Symphony has risen in profile thanks to recordings, television broadcasts, and an East Coast tour in the year 2000 which culminated at the NYC institution Carnegie Hall.
