The promotion Thursday Night at the Fights has been putting on boxing matches, as well as Mixed Martial Arts fights, for more than 30 years, with the typical fight season beginning in September or October and then continuing through the winter months into March or April.

The fights take place at the Egan Center, located in downtown Anchorage, Ala. The usual format of the Thursday Night Fights has the first bout taking place around 7:30 PM and then ending at 10:00 PM.  There are usually seven fights each night with a small intermission after the fourth or fifth fight. 

Watch the competitors go hand to hand with Thursday Night Fights tickets. The fights are three rounds and are sanctioned and governed by the Alaska State Athletic Commission. As such, scoring is done on a ten-point must system, with the winner of the round needing to win 10 points, while the loser of the round gets nine or less. 

If a fighter knocks down his opponent, the judge is instructed to only give eight points to the fighter that was knocked down. If the fight goes all three rounds, then the points of each round are added up and the fighter with the most total points is deemed the winner.
