The band’s original 14-year run was highly successful with fifteen songs entering the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and selling more than 50 million records worldwide.

The ELO was disbanded by Lynne in 1986 and briefly reunited in 2000 with a new lineup that lasted less than a year. Jeff Lynne and Richard Tandy reunited in 2014 and have performed and recorded together ever since. The reunited group is often referred to as Jeff Lynne’s ELO due to numerous offshoots that use the ELO moniker in some fashion.
