The band juggled multiple names including Yakoo, and Eleventeen before settling on Eve 6. A reference to the television show X-Files, the group was able to sign with RCA while still known as Eleventeen and attending high school. In 1998 the band released their debut self-titled album Eve 6 which helped them instantaneously push towards the mainstream with hit singles like “Inside Out”.

You can find the punk mentality with Eve 6 tickets mixed with an alternative rock twist, and a general joy for speaking their minds. With multiple hits from the start including “Leech” and “Tongue Tied”, Eve 6 swiftly started making appearances on shows like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Show with David Letterman.

Their rapid rise wasn’t all productive though as the pressure resulted in burnout that cause the band to disband in 2004. The band would reform again in 2007 though they wouldn’t release another album until 2012’s Speak in Code.
