The band was formed in 2001 in the suburb of Chicago, Wilmette, Illinois. Patrick is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitar, Pete plays the bass, Joe plays the lead guitar and Andy is on the drums. Originating for Chicago’s hardcore punk scene, Pete and Joe formed the group as a pop-punk side project from the members’ respective hardcore bands and Patrick soon joined the others. Although the band had to go through a few drummers, they finally landed on Andy and recorded their debut album Take This to Your Grave in 2003.

American Beauty/American Psycho, the group’s sixth album released in 2015 and peaked number one as well as their seventh album, Mania in 2018. By now the band had four number 1 albums and six consecutive top 10 albums. Fall Out Boy performed their first headlining stadium show at Wrigley Field in 2018 while on tour supporting their album Mania. This same year the Fall Out Boy received their second Grammy nomination for “Best Rock Album. The group announced a co-headlining tour with Green Day and Weezer named the Hella Mega Tour. Fall Out Boy has released new music in support of the tour.
