Giveon’s sound is mostly noted for its jazz inspirations and his baritone voice. In addition to his love of Sinatra, Giveon has also said that artists such as Frank Ocean, Adele, and Drake are some of his biggest influences.

In 2020, he collaborated with Drake on the single “Chicago Freestyle” which caused Giveon to rise in fame. Also in 2020, he released two EPs, one of which has been nominated for a Grammy Award for the Best R&B Album. Giveon also released the single “Heartbreak Anniversary” which was certified platinum by RIAA and reached the Top 40 in the US. He was featured along with Daniel Caesar on the song “Peaches” by Justin Bieber which hit number one on the Billboard Global 200.
