The Dynamo vouched to bring women’s soccer to Houston and even accepted deposits to fund the expansion. The Dash sports the same colors as the Dynamo with their orange, black, and sky blue.

Although they are a new team to the NWSL, they have already garnered a few awards for their name. In 2020 the Houston Dash were the winners of the NWSL Challenge Cup and were runners-up for the NWSL Community Shield.

The Houston soccer community, Dash and Dynamo alike have come together to create several support systems and community outreach programs that benefit Houston. The Dash participates in the Dynamo Charities which strives to gather funds for soccer in Houston and focuses on youth enrichment and cancer research awareness. Houston Dash also supports Dynamo GOALS which helps educate kids on the importance of health and staying healthy by combining academics and athletics. The coaches and players come to various schools to visit the students and train with them.
