The first event of the new promotion took place on January 13, 2017. The event was aired on AXS TV, which was owned by Mark Cuban. The main event of the card was a bantamweight bout between Leandro Higo defeating future UFC competitor Steven Peterson by unanimous decision. Other competitors on the card included future UFC standouts women strawweight competitor Cynthia Cavillo and light heavyweight Rashad Coulter.
