For the years 1963 and ‘64, the production was changed slightly and renamed Teddy Roosevelt Rides Again. In 1965 when North Dakota businessman Harold Schafer purchased the amphitheater, some renovations were made, and the Medora Musical was born.

Curt Wollan, the musical’s executive producer and director, first became involved with Medora back in 1977. While he performs the fan-favorite traditional acts, Wollan tries to make the musical a little different each year. Each year several special surprise events are also planned to wow both new and returning audience members.
