MLB Postseason Dates & Schedule

The MLB Postseason typically starts in early October, depending on when the final game of the 162-game season ends. The Wild Card round features a total of eight teams in four best-of-three series. The League Division Series is played best of five games with three games minimum. The League Championship Series played the best of seven games with five games minimum.

Each team has the opportunity to play at home at least twice. When playing in the first round of the bracket, the LDS, the lower-seeded team plays the first two games at home and then both teams travel to the higher-seeded baseball stadium for up to two games. When playing for the LCS pennant, up to three games are played at the higher-seeded team. If additional games are required to determine an overall winner, up to two games will be played at the lower-seeded ballpark.
