Scogin was first a member or hardcore outfit Norma Jean though he left the band shortly after releasing their debut album in 2003 and formed a new metalcore band, The Chariot.

After a decade of fronting The Chariot, he joined forces with the duos original drummer, Michael McClellan, and released a two-song EP in 2013 titled Midnight of which the initial pressing sold out in less than a day. Shortly after, they hit the road and announced their signing to Good Fight Music and Entertainment One Music. ‘68 released their debut full-length album, In Humour and Sadness, in 2014, which hit the number two spot on the Billboard US Heatseekers chart. Many more ‘68 tickets were sold in 2017 following their second album, Two Parts Viper, under their new label Good Fight Entertainment.
