Reeves performed at the 2002 Winter Olympics and appeared in the movie Good Night, And Good Luck. She was also awarded two honorary doctorates for her musical skills and contributions. Chucho Valdes is an expert pianist with a fifty-year career. Born in Cuba in 1941, Valdes grew up to pursue his love of jazz music by starting Irakere, one of Cuba’s most famous Latin jazz bands. He also had a solo career that earned him four Grammy awards.

Born into a musical family in Ohio, Lovano started playing the saxophone at age six and went on to study at Berklee College of Music, where he received an honorary Doctor of Music degree. Inspired by John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie and Sonny Stitt, Lovano played with the Woody Herman Orchestra, the Mel Lewis band and others. His album Quartets: Live at the Village Vanguard received the Jazz Album of the Year award from Downbeat magazine.
