The series features acclaimed jazz pianists performing some of the holiday’s most well-known classics. A Jazz Piano Christmas showcases the talents of Gerald Clayton, Patrice Rushen and Eric Reed with songs in genres as far-ranging as gospel, pop and of course, contemporary jazz.
Gerald Clayton is a pianist and composer who has toured and performed with artists such as Charles Lloyd, Dick Oatts and Sachal Vasandani. He came to national attention in the 2010s when his albums Life Forum and The Paris Sessions were nominated for the Grammy Awards for Best Instrumental Jazz Album.
Patrice Rushen is an instrumentalist and singer-songwriter known for her improvisational skills and soulful vocals. In 1982 Rushen’s single “Forget Me Nots” earned a Grammy nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
