Formed in 2007 in Detroit, Michigan by Shagrat (bass and vocals) and Slasher Dave (keyboards and vocals), Acid Witch has released three studio albums, six EPs and three singles. Razorback Records took interest in the band after hearing their demo and signed to release their first album Witchtanic Hellucinations in 2008, followed by two EPs Witch House in 2009 and Midnight Mass in 2010. The band did not actually play their first live show until 2010 after the successes of those first three releases. By the end of 2010, they released their second studio album Stoned.
Acid Witch began touring around the US and Europe with acts like The Gates of Slumber, Pentagram and Child Bite. They would release two more EPs, Spooky and Midnight Movies, before their third album Evil Sound Screamers in 2017.
