He also plays the bouzouki, banjo, and mandolin. He’s best known as the lead singer for Great Big Sea, a folk-rock band from Canada. He has also worked with Russel Crowe’s bands, 30 Odd Foot of Grunts and The Ordinary Fear of God. He has had acting credits in projects like “Robin Hood,” “Winter’s Tale,” “Republic of Doyle,” and “Murdoch Mysteries.” He has even contributed to the making of music for shows like “Hatching, Matching and Dispatching” as well as “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” He has a few unique accomplishments as well, like being named a “Member of the Order of Canada” and penned a memoir, “Where I Belong,” which was released in 2014.

He followed it up with two more albums, “So Let’s Go” in 2015 and “A Week at the Warehouse” in 2017.
