The ensemble quickly became a popular touring act in concert halls and in concert series around the nation and has continued to travel ever since. In 2004, Sorrell also launched a crossover/folk branch of the ensemble, focusing on traditional music from different areas like Celtic and Appalachian music. The main ensemble made its European debut in 2010 at Wigmore Hall in London.
