After several years spent refining their sound, Archspire released their debut album All Shall Align in 2011 through Trendkill Recordings. Following the release of their sophomore album The Lucid Collective in 2014, the band held open auditions for a new bass player. Jared Smith was recruited after sending the members a video recording of his performance of “Lucid Collective Somnambulation.”
Archspire rose to national attention in 2017 with the release of Relentless Mutation, which earned a nod for that year’s Juno Award for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year. The band gained another significant boost in exposure when in 2019 their work was used to create a neural network AI that generated its own death metal songs.
