The punk band was formed in 1987 and hails from Richmond, Virginia, and consists of vocalist Tim Barry, guitarist and only remaining founding member Joe Banks, Justin “Gwomper” Burdick, drummer Erik Larson and hype man Beau Butler. The group self-released their debut album, Satiate, in 1992 prior to it being re-released in 1994 after their signing to Lookout! Records. In 1996 they released their album, 4am Friday, with a tracklist consisting of the group's biggest hit “Simple Song” which would end up featured in the 2002 video game Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4.
The band has formed a highly dedicated fanbase over the years in the punk and hardcore scenes, blending distinct influences from punk, classic rock and hardcore music while often using lyrics to show their admiration for the Richmond and D.C. scene of the 80’s. The band went on to sign with Fat Wreck Chords, the label started by NOFX frontman Michael Burkett and his then-wife Erin Burkett. Their first release with the new label was the 2000 album, One Wrench, which was followed by the band's final album, Front Porch Stories, in 2002.

In 2019, the band announced a reunion show in Virginia and has continued to perform live ever since.
