In school, he was a part of the Sparrow Quartet group, who became the first American ensemble to be allowed to enter Tibet and perform shows there. He has toured throughout the United States both as part of the Sparrow Quartet and individually. Ben Sollee has performed at several festivals like Bonnaroo, SXSW Festival and Austin City Limits Music Festival. He has also collaborated with various ballet companies, composing scores for their performances.
