Bent Knee formed in Boston in 2009, as the members had all met while studying at the Berklee College of Music. They released their self-titled debut EP in 2011, though garnered the most attention for their sophomore effort Shiny Eyed Babies. By 2015 they had been signed to the Cuneiform Records label, through which they released their most well-known album Say So.
Bent Knee developed a reputation for its sophisticated musicality and unorthodox experimentation. In the years leading up to the release of Say So, they toured widely with the likes of Thank You Scientist, Mike Keneally and The Dillinger Escape Plan. They have amassed a devoted cult following, in large part due to singer Courtney Swain’s extensive vocal range.
