The Wildcats play in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), They are members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
During the 1970s, BCU was classified as an NCAA Division II school. When they made the jump to the Division I level in the 1980s, the Wildcats enjoyed multiple MEAC conference championships. The first such championship came in 1984 after the Wildcats swept the rest of the conference. From 2012 through 2015, four straight MEAC conference championship titles were won by the Wildcats.
BCU football has reached the FCS Playoffs at least five times. They qualified in back-to-back years in 2002 and 2003. Unfortunately, they lost both times to Georgia Southern and Florida Atlantic respectively. The 2013 season saw the Wildcats reach double-digit wins. BCU football tickets during that season saw a team earn a conference title, playoff berth, and Black College Football National Championship. It was Bethune-Cookman’s second such national championship.
While BCU is a relatively small school, there have been a number of players who have gone on to play in the NFL. One such player, Larry Little, has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He played at BCU from 1963-1966 and went on to be drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers. Much of his hall of fame career was spent playing guard for the Miami Dolphins.

Fans can get in to see the Wildcats for around $30. Bleacher-style seating has been known to cost around $30 to $40. Premium seats in the chairbacks section can start in the $50 range.
BCU Football Schedule
Early on in the regular season, special matchups like the MEAC/SWAC Challenge appear on the BCU football calendar. Opponents like Jackson State University come to Daytona Stadium. Local opponents like the Miami Hurricanes invite the Wildcats for a primetime showdown. Seven or eight MEAC games round out the rest of the calendar, including matchups against schools like Howard and North Carolina Central. At the end of the regular season in November, it’s possible that Bethune-Cookman is invited to participate in the NCAA Division I FCS Playoffs.
When do BCU Football tickets go on sale?

Where does BCU Football play?
The 9,601-seat Daytona Stadium is the home of Bethune-Cookman football. The field is named after Larry Kelly, the longtime mayor of Daytona Beach. There are no stands in the end zones. Instead, fans looking for affordable BCU football tickets should look in the bleacher sections at the top of the stands. Chairbacks are located at midfield.
When the Wildcats visit the Morgan State Bears, games will be played in the 10,001-seat Hughes Stadium. Aptly referred to as “The Den,” students frequently fill either side of the stadium.
