Get in the spirit of folk-rock rhythms with Bill Deasy tickets. Bill Deasy is an author and singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the 90s as the lead singer for the rock quartet The Gathering Field. Deasy was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and first developed a name for himself in the city’s music scene in the late 80s.
Deasy then formed his first band Shiloh, which famously won Pittsburgh’s 1991 Graffiti Rock Challenge in competition against future stars Rusted Root. Following the breakup of Shiloh in the mid-90s, Deasy founded the group The Gathering Field, whose runaway hit “Lost in America” earned them a deal with Atlantic Records. The group went on to release a number of successful albums through the rest of the 90s and into the early 2000s.
The artist has also enjoyed a successful solo career, beginning with his acoustic album Spring Lies Waiting. Deasy has since released several further albums, most notably his 2003 album Chasing Down a Spark, a collaboration with The Clarks, David Mansfield and Maia Sharp.
