Ballet Tickets Boston
Catch the natural grace and beauty of dance by getting your Boston Ballet tickets today. One of the most traditional forms of dance combines pageantry and athleticism, and the historic troupe from Massachusetts is on display and always en pointe.
E. Virginia Williams founded the first professional ballet group from New England in 1963. She was exposed to the art of dance by her parents at a young age. One of her first inspirational views was watching Irene Castle in The Skater’s Waltz. She was only 4, but beyond her years. The precocious lover of ballet started taking lessons and even started helping fellow dancers next to her with their form. The teacher inside was born. At 16, Williams began formally teaching ballet after her instructor needed a substitute during practice. She would go on in 1958 to found the New England Civic Ballet. After awarded a grant, her dancer’s organization would officially become professional and in 1963 was named the Boston Ballet.
Get your Boston Ballet tickets to witness these dancers from this historic company. From a pas de deux in The Nutcracker to the prima solo in Giselle, these performers are not to be missed. Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen, and choreographers Marius Petipa, Christopher Wheeldon, and William Forsythe, breathe life into Sleeping Beauty, A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream, Carmen, Swan Lake, and new productions Off the Charts and the special three-series “Triple Bill.” Of course, these always come with some of the most talented ballet dancers around. The Boston Ballet puts on spectacular shows at their home Opera House in Boston including classical, neoclassical and contemporary ballets. The limited troupe tour performances in the past have included the Fall for Dance Festival in New York a coordinated musical-dance collaboration and the premiere of world-class choreographer William Forsythe’s works, “Playlist” and “Pas/Parts 2018,” at the Theatre des Champs-Elysees in Paris.
