In 2007 Cadd was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame. He was also presented with the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2018 along with the late musician Phil Emmanuel. Cadd was raised in Perth, Western Australia and was a child prodigy, winning the TV show "Talent Quest" at only 12 and was offered a professional job as a pianist for a children’s TV program.
