The football club Cagliari Calcio S.p.a., usually just called Cagliari, is a professional men’s club in Italy and competes in Serie A, the highest level of men’s soccer in the Italian soccer hierarchy. The club’s home ground is Unipol Domus in Cagliari, Sardinia. The soccer club was founded in 1920 and rose to prominence after becoming the first side to win the Serie C Championship in the 1951-52 season and debuted in Serie B. After a brief demotion back to Serie C in the early part of the 1960s, the team then quickly ascended back to Serie B and debuted in Serie A in 1964.
