Rising out of Liverpool, England, Carcass first started making music in 1986. They have gone through many lineups and even a breakup in 1996 but original members Jeff Walker (bass, lead vocals) and Bill Steer (guitar, backing vocals) remain along with Daniel Wilding (drums) and Tom Draper (guitar). Carcass debuted with 1988s Reek of Putrefaction which was poorly produced yet still gained the band solid traction.

Over time Carcass started to broaden their sound like the lighter more technical 1993 album Heartwork.
