Marie, Ontario, listening to the music of the 1970s. Bands he has been involved with include Coney Hatch, April Wine and The Guess Who.
Dixon relocated to Montreal in 1979 to join the band Firefly. He left Firefly in 1981 to join Coney Hatch in Toronto, becoming their lead singer. He toured with the band for the most significant part of the 1980s with Coney Hatch. Several hits by the band, including “Hey Operator” and “Devil’s Deck,” were either written or co-written by Dixon.

He has toured with multiple heavy metal and hard rock legends, including Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Triumph and Ted Nugent. His work has also been featured on television and in movies. He co-wrote the song “Taste of Love,” featured on an episode of Baywatch. His song, “Fool’s Paradise,” can be heard in the film Freakshow.
He joined The Guess Who as lead singer from 1997 until 2000. He performed with April Wine from 2001 to 2004. In 2004, he rejoined The Guess Who until 2008, when he had a car accident.
