The Charlottetown Islanders are a major junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League out of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. The Islanders call the Eastlink Centre, which has a capacity of 3,717 for hockey, home ice.

The team was formed in Montreal, Quebec and named the Montreal Rocket, named after Maurice Richard, known as the Rocket of the Montreal Canadiens. The team crest featured Richard’s Canadiens jersey number “9.”  The team relocated to Charlottetown in 2003 but kept the name Rocket until the beginning of the 2013-2014 season, when they adopted the Islanders nickname, with the new logo and color scheme was revealed on May 27 of 2013.

The team has produced over ten NHL alumni, including goaltender Antoine Bibeau, who was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.  Another former Islander to enter the NHL is Samuel Blais, who plays forward for the New York Rangers but was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in 2014.

The team has reached the second round of the playoffs more than five times. The first time that the team reached the semifinals was during the 2016-2017 season.
