Koubi trained at the Rosella Hightower International Dance Center in Cannes. He then went to the Marseille Opera, where he worked with Jean-Charles Gil, Jean-Christopher Pare, Emilio Calcagno and Barbara Sarreau, as part of the Affluents du Ballet Prejlocaj. He then became a member of the Center choreagraphie national de Nantes before working with Karine Saporta and Barbara Sarreau.
