The self-titled first album for the project dropped in 2005 and helped the group rise to fame with the help of the internet, a rare occurrence at a time where it was near impossible to rise to fame without a record deal. The album earned a “Best New Album” recommendation from Pitchfork and gained the attention of David Bowie and David Byrne. The album reached #16 on the US Indie chart and entered the charts in multiple countries worldwide. Numerous songs from the debut effort remain fan favorites including “The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth” and “Over and over Again (Lost and Found)”. The follow-up album, Some Loud Thunder, shot up to #2 on the US Indie Chart in 2007.
