The annual College Basketball All-Star Game & Celebrity Extravaganza is an event that showcases Historically Black Colleges and Universities, featuring selected seniors from HBCUs competing in an exhibition game against players chosen from Ohio schools. The five-day event will feature fashion, entertainment and music in a celebration of HBCUs.

The event also features a McDonald’s All-Star Pre-Game show as well as a half-time show featuring former players and special guests. Players featured include athletes such as multiple-time NBA All-Star Allen Iverson. As part of the event, a celebrity game is also played, featuring local celebrities and media figures. Each celebrity team has a celebrity coach, such as Iverson and former NBA basketball player Brad Sellers.

Enjoy a game of HBCU All-Stars competing against players from Ohio with Classic For Columbus tickets. Also featured in the event is a comedy slam, hosted by Joe Torry, who has been featured in movies such as House Party as well as television shows such as The Jamie Foxx Show. Comedians compete for cash and applause from the audience with their best material. 

Other activities include a screening of the movie Women of Troy, hosted by Cheryl Miller, a fashion competition, a slam dunk competition, line dancing and concerts as well as other activities.

Classic For Columbus Schedule

From the season-opening Champions Classic to March Madness, the college basketball season is always full of exciting games. Teams open their seasons in November with non-conference contests and tournaments. The Maui Invitational and Gulf Coast Showcase are two of the top early-season tournaments. The season moves into conference play in December and January before conference tournaments take place in early March. The WNIT, NIT and NCAA Tournaments will take place in March and April.
