Releasing EP The Wild Youth (2011) through Communion Records (founded by Mumford & Sons' Ben Lovett), they were enthusiastically championed by Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens and impressed critics with the atmospheric beauty of singles Smother, Human and Youth. Debut album If You Leave (2013) drew comparisons with The XX, Laura Marling and Cat Power as it went on to reach Number 16 in the UK charts to mark Daughter out as one of the breakthrough acts of 2013/14.
