The name of the band was inspired by a horse that was saved by one of McGinn’s close friends. The band’s reputation when they walk onto the stage is that they are here to play.
Dolly Shine created their own original work and soon became very popular in Texas and Oklahoma. The band released their first album with six self-titled songs in October of 2011. Dolly Shine released their first full-length album, Room to Breathe, in June of 2013. In 2016, Jerrod Flusche, Ben Hussey, and Johnny Goodson joined the band and helped release the second full-length album, Walkabout. Two of their singles, “Her Name Was Trouble” and “Dangerous Love” made their way onto the charts and were favorites from the fans.
