When he was twelve he began taking piano, voice and acting lessons, going on to study in Paris at the Advanced Institute of Dramatic Arts.
De Pretto began his acting career through a series of television commercials, soon enjoying roles in the films Konigsberg, Vivre sa Vie and Paulette. As a teenager, de Pretto began writing his first songs, and in the late 2010s performed at the Printemps de Bourges Festival, the Bars ens Trans Festival and the Nuits de Champagne Festival.
In 2017 de Pretto released his debut EP Kid, which was well-received. The following year the artist earned a nod for the Best Newcomer Award at the Victoires de la Musique ceremony. De Pretto rose to fame, however, with the release of his debut full-length album Cure. Cure became Fnac’s number one best-selling album within only a week of its release and catapulted the artist to national attention overnight.
