In 1989 Quintero gave his first professional performance as part of La Original Banda El Limon de Salvador Lizarraga. Through the 90s he sang with a number of groups including Banda Los Recoditos, La Original Banda El Limon and Banda la Costena de Ramon Lopez Alvarado.
In 1997 Quintero released his first solo album through EMI Televisa Music, Aqui Me Quedare. Shortly afterward he formed his band El Coyote Y Su Banda Tierra Santa, who became known for their hits “Te Sone” and “Linda Doctora,” among many others.
