The group resurrects the music that popularized Britpop and post-punk while simultaneously experimenting with new-age punk rock of the 21st century.

Chambers and XTC were originally well-known for their antisocial views and anti-religious messages like “Dear God” in 1986, one of their most popular tracks alongside other singles like “Mayor of Simpleton.” Both tracks are among EXTC’s own setlists, holding onto the legacy of their predecessor while developing new music. The group’s music is notable for its mesmerizing rhythms and all-guitar lineup for many tracks, with Colin Moulding’s singing furthering the already powerful lyrics of their predecessor. The group is lauded for not only revitalizing popular hits of the 1980s but reinventing them.
